Land the Booster

An incredibly challenging rocket landing simulator that might actually be impossible - we're still waiting to hear back from Elon Musk on that one. Control a returning rocket booster as you attempt to land it safely on a coastal pad, managing fuel, velocity, and angle in this physics-based game. If you manage to stick the landing, please tweet us the proof - you might be the first person to ever do it!

About the Game

Land the Booster challenges players to accomplish what even SpaceX engineers find difficult: precisely landing a rocket booster. With realistic physics simulation and unforgiving parameters, this game puts you in control of a returning rocket booster attempting to make a precise landing on a coastal pad.

The game might be impossible - we're actually not sure. We reached out to Elon Musk to ask how hard rocket landing really is, but we're still waiting for his response. If you manage to successfully land the booster, please tweet us your proof. You might be the first!

Key Features

  • Realistic physics-based rocket landing simulation
  • Real-time fuel management
  • Precise angle and velocity requirements
  • Multiple failure states with detailed feedback
  • Minimalist UI showing critical flight data
  • Browser-based gameplay - no downloads required

Landing Parameters

For a successful landing, you need to meet these critical parameters:

  • • Vertical velocity: < 6 m/s
  • • Horizontal velocity: < 2 m/s
  • • Angle: within ±5 degrees of vertical
  • • Position: within the marked landing zone
  • • Fuel: any remaining amount

Landing Tips

  • • Start slowing down early - you can't brake at the last second
  • • Keep the rocket as vertical as possible
  • • Watch your fuel consumption
  • • Use small adjustments for final positioning
  • • If you succeed, don't forget to tweet your proof!
